About

Hi! I'm Amanda, the woman behind Chainstitch Ghoul.

My grandmother taught me embroidery when I was a kid and then I picked it back up when I was in college. I started a business (Crewel Ghoul) and did everything by hand for years, and then in 2017 I bought an antique Singer chainstitch machine. Slowly but surely I started learning the art and technique of chainstitch embroidery.

Most of my work is inspired by traditional tattoo flash, antique postcards, and other relics from the past. I've always had an affinity towards old things, so I love to incorporate that into the work I do today.
